Platform

One operating model per site. Every asset inside it.

Shockflo runs as a cloud platform with a local edge layer on site. The edge is what makes control safe: it holds the operating envelope, enforces site constraints before any command executes, and keeps running when the connection to the cloud does not.

Shockflo is not an electricity supplier and not a market optimiser. We build and operate the integration and control layer. Market access is delivered through established UK aggregator partners.

Capability status · updated August 2026

What is live, what runs through a partner, and what we are still building.

Most energy software companies describe the roadmap as if it were the product. We publish the difference, and we update this table as capabilities move.

Architecture

Three layers, with a deliberate boundary between them.

LAYER 01 · EDGE

Controller on site

Local data collection, protocol translation, scheduling and fallback rules, safety interlocks, control boundaries, store-and-forward through comms loss, command acknowledgement.

LAYER 02 · CLOUD

Portal, model and analytics

Customer portal and operations console. Site, asset and user master data, time-series telemetry, forecasting, reporting and settlement records.

LAYER 03 · PARTNER

Optimiser interface

External market targets enter through one controlled interface. Site constraints are enforced locally before execution — so the market route can change without redesigning the site.

Device qualification gate

Nothing gets controlled until it has passed seven checks.

Monitoring access and control access are different things. A device that appears in a portal is not necessarily a device that can be dispatched reliably. Before any asset is treated as controllable, we verify:

01

Communication route

The physical and logical path, and what happens to it under load.

02

Latency

Measured on site, not quoted from a datasheet.

03

Acknowledgement

Whether the device confirms, and whether that confirmation is trustworthy.

04

Failure behaviour

What the asset does when the command stops arriving.

05

Warranty impact

Confirmed in writing with the manufacturer before commissioning.

06

Customer permission

Named override contacts and agreed operating limits.

07

Grid constraints

DNO import and export permissions, and agreed capacity.

Then, and only then

Every command, response and manual override is logged and auditable.

Platform pricing

Per site, per month.

Monitor
£95
per site / month

Telemetry, dashboard, reporting and alerts. No control.

Optimise
£245
per site / month

Active control, scheduling, peak management and tariff optimisation. No market participation.

Flex
£145
per site / month + revenue share

Everything in Optimise, plus flexibility market participation through our aggregator partners.

Multi-site portfolios: portfolio pricing on request. Founding Site Programme sites move to the Flex tier from month 13 — trading does not stop.
