One operating model per site. Every asset inside it.
Shockflo runs as a cloud platform with a local edge layer on site. The edge is what makes control safe: it holds the operating envelope, enforces site constraints before any command executes, and keeps running when the connection to the cloud does not.
Shockflo is not an electricity supplier and not a market optimiser. We build and operate the integration and control layer. Market access is delivered through established UK aggregator partners.
What is live, what runs through a partner, and what we are still building.
Most energy software companies describe the roadmap as if it were the product. We publish the difference, and we update this table as capabilities move.
| Capability | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-device data integration | Live | Framework complete. |
| HVAC data integration | Live | Integrated and reporting. |
| Asset register and site model | Live | Structured site, asset and constraint model with document intake. |
| Manufacturer API integrations | Live | See the integration grid below. |
| Site data collection and monitoring | Live — two UK sites | Connected and collecting half-hourly data at two UK commercial sites. |
| Site control and cost optimisation | Live | Peak management, load scheduling and tariff optimisation running against live data. |
| HVAC remote control | Live | Remote setpoint control operating on site within agreed comfort and process boundaries. |
| Market dispatch | In commissioning | First sites entering market operation with our flexibility partner. |
| Control centre | Live | Operational. Single-device and group control, asset capability calculation and execution records. |
| Flexibility market access | Partner-enabled | Delivered through established UK aggregators. |
| Settlement and revenue share | Partner-enabled | Reporting is ours; the market route is theirs. |
| Virtual power plant | In development | Designed for. Not operated. |

Metering & Gateways

Live API and protocol integrations. Device compatibility does not imply commercial partnership or endorsement.
Protocol support: Modbus RTU/TCP · OCPP · BACnet · MQTT · manufacturer REST APIs.
Three layers, with a deliberate boundary between them.
Controller on site
Local data collection, protocol translation, scheduling and fallback rules, safety interlocks, control boundaries, store-and-forward through comms loss, command acknowledgement.
Portal, model and analytics
Customer portal and operations console. Site, asset and user master data, time-series telemetry, forecasting, reporting and settlement records.
Optimiser interface
External market targets enter through one controlled interface. Site constraints are enforced locally before execution — so the market route can change without redesigning the site.
Nothing gets controlled until it has passed seven checks.
Monitoring access and control access are different things. A device that appears in a portal is not necessarily a device that can be dispatched reliably. Before any asset is treated as controllable, we verify:
Communication route
The physical and logical path, and what happens to it under load.
Latency
Measured on site, not quoted from a datasheet.
Acknowledgement
Whether the device confirms, and whether that confirmation is trustworthy.
Failure behaviour
What the asset does when the command stops arriving.
Warranty impact
Confirmed in writing with the manufacturer before commissioning.
Customer permission
Named override contacts and agreed operating limits.
Grid constraints
DNO import and export permissions, and agreed capacity.
Then, and only then
Every command, response and manual override is logged and auditable.
Per site, per month.
Telemetry, dashboard, reporting and alerts. No control.
Active control, scheduling, peak management and tariff optimisation. No market participation.
Everything in Optimise, plus flexibility market participation through our aggregator partners.
Multi-site portfolios: portfolio pricing on request. Founding Site Programme sites move to the Flex tier from month 13 — trading does not stop.
